Whiz eats the
fruit of the deadly Laughing Bush, and comes down with a contagious and fatal
laughing disease! The kids have to go to Dismal Swamp to find the Ding-a-ling
tree, which will cure him. Against the other's wishes, Kidd enlists the help of
an ugly swamp monster, Cienega. During their search, the Master Blaster steals
the Ding-a-ling tree.
Cienega helps
the kids get into the Master Blaster's fortress for the antidote, even though
Carla, Ash and Whiz constantly put her down. Kidd is the only one who is nice
to her.
Everyone has to
escape from the fortress before the Master Blaster traps them, and Kidd is the
only one to stay behind to help Cienega escape. Kidd tells Cienega that he cares
about her and she changes into a beautiful princess; she was under a spell, put
on her by a witch long ago. The lesson is that it's not what you look like, but
who you are inside.
